Rockall Basin Research Group

Welcome to the Rockall Basin Research Group project pages.

The Rockall Basin Project aims to deliver a full geological understanding of the prospectivity of the Rockall Basin. The work will focus on de-risking plays and identifying prospects using new geophysical data acquired in 2015 as part of the OGA UK Frontier Basins seismic acquisition, combined with legacy seismic data and analysis of well data and appropriate outcrop analogues.

The project is funded by the Oil and Gas Authority as part of a wider initiative to stimulate hydrocarbon exploration in frontier areas of the UKCS and will be carried out at the University of Aberdeen.

On this site, you can find out more about the project and download project deliverables as they become available.
